Part I Basic Law for Arbitrators

Course Fee:	$600.00 + $30.00 = $630.00

Basic law for arbitration, covers the laws of contract, tort, evidence and is mandatory for those who do not have a law degree. Includes required reading, course assignments and final written test. To obtain maximum benefit from this course, student must have read the course material prior to attending seminar.

Part II Conduct of Arbitration Proceedings
For lawyers and those who have successfully completed the BCAMI Part I, Basic Law for Arbitrators.

Course materials provided. Course includes: Commercial Arbitration Act, BCICAC (British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre) Rules, BCAMI rules, Construction Disputes (CCDC40), organizing the Arbitration process, in-class test, and final written test. To obtain maximum benefit from this course, student must have read the course material prior to attending seminar.

An interactive course for members who have successfully completed Part I & II, for Chartered Arbitrator members who desire more experience in current issues, including ICBC "Total Loss" procedures and for Associate members prior to meeting with the Accreditation committee to gain member status and to be placed on the Institute's referral list. Participants will be involved in role-playing using a wide spectrum of issues which can arise at any time during an arbitration proceeding. BCAMI has recently added a 1 day course to enhance the skills of current ICBC roster referral members. For more information about this 1 day course, please contact the Institute. A final test on the apprehension of evidence and writing of an award will be given.

To ensure active participation all courses are limited in class size. Courses fill up quickly, register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Please be advised that you do not have to be a member of BCAMI to take the arbitration courses.

Cancellation Policy:

An administration fee of $75 (+ GST) will be charged for cancellations a month prior to course start date.
A reimbursement of 50% of the course fee if cancellation is less than one month prior to course start date.
An administration fee of $50 (+ GST) will be charged to reserve a spot in the next course date.
